After three decades making waves in education, our education grandmaster is diving in to her next chapter!

As a dedicated educator, Karen spent her years constantly growing and sharing her expertise with students and peers. For many years, she traveled to NYC (Big sacrifice!) for reading training, always bringing back treasures of knowledge to share. She dove deep into STEM and ignited kids’ passion for science and aeronautics.

Most recently, as leader of the county's gifted division, she created currents of innovation that spread throughout local schools. Her legendary chess club became the most exclusive elementary school activity, with students backlisted for months, waiting for their chance to learn from the grandmaster herself.

As she launches from teaching into the cool waters of retirement, her influence continues to ripple through thousands of lives.
